WELCOME
to our
Calls to Action
WE'RE NOT TALKING POLITICS -
WE'RE TALKING ABOUT LEGISLATION -
LEGISLATION THAT AFFECTS MOTORCYCLISTS -
........AND HOW WE CAN HAVE AN INPUT AND IMPACT
ON LEGISLATION THAT AFFECTS OUR LIFESTYLE!
What WE can do...
We're all old enough, and we've all been around the block enough to know that while it seems sometimes that we don't have much of a say, if we make enough of an effort, and we rally our friends, neighbors and cohorts, we can, do, and have made a difference. There are "things" out there now that, more than ever, require our attention, and action, lest we and our motorcycles be relegated to the side of the road - permanently!
THE LATEST
THE PUSH IS ON ---
to ELIMINATE MOTORCYCLES!
Have you heard?
After a disastrous year where several motorcyclists were run over and killed due to the sensors not "seeing" motorcycles, TESLA's have been taken off the road while the company figures out a way of ensuring the vehicles will see all vehicles!!
~~~~~~~~~
Harley-Davidson no longer maintains parts, nor will dealers work on HD's over 10 years old! (and...we've been informed that GM dealers will no longer work on GM products over 10 years old!)
AND - Manufacturers and the government are working to PROHIBIT you from working on your own bike, AND...they're going after the small independent repair shops as well. So your local neighborhood motorcycle repair shop may have a limited future!
If you want to continue riding your motorcycle join the MRF, OUR voice in DC. Support your local ABATE organization, and ask your state and federal legislators where they stand on motorcycles!!
Congressional Motorcycle Caucus
People ON our side - in Congress, OF ALL PLACES!!
Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, and he's in Congress!
We DO have some friends in Congress - and if one of the folks listed below is YOUR congressional rep, or from your state, or just because you want to let them know you appreciate their holding the line in DC for the rest of us.
Don't forget to visit with them when they're home, especially if they're from your district!
Motorcycle Profiling Project
(Over 15,000 responses received this year!)
An opportunity to have your voice heard
Motorcycle and motorcyclist profiling by law enforcement, we all thought, was limited to a certain set of our community, but it got to be pretty pervasive. The time had come to push back, to put a stop to the highly discriminatory practice of seeking out and harassing motorcyclists through motorcycle only traffic stops and checkpoints. Discrimination for our mode of transportation and our clothing.
In theory, legislators are our selected voices in the state capitol, or under the Capitol Dome in DC. In practice, it's a numbers game - on whether they'll get enough votes to stay in office or not; and that is based on their performance in following through on those things the votors want, or don't want. The greater the number of those "for", or "against" the more effort the legislators will exert in either getting a bill heard and passed or fighting to kill one. Hence, the greater the numbers, the more work they'll put into it. It stands to reason that to affect Congress, the greater the numbers.......... so, please complete the survey and add your voice to the numbers........ (Husbands, wives, cousins, neighbors, great-granny - everyone can participate!)
Motorcyclist Rights Foundation
YOUR DEDICATED VOICE IN WASHINGTON DC
With a small office, a full-time lobbyist, and access to Senators & Congressional Representatives, the MRF IS OUR VOICE IN DC!
Please consider becoming a member and having your area or state becoming a member. They don't sponsor racing, they're not about dirt bikes and off-road trails. They're the motorcyclist's front line against higher ethanol limits, against unregulated autonomous vehicles, against all the ridiculous federal legislation that would negatively affect our enjoyment of motorcycling. They work on our behalf for legislation that protects motorcyclist's freedom of choice in the clothing they wear, their mode of transportation and, your membership goes directly toward that effort.
